Just needing to vent......

Question
http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.js...025269&start=0
I have been reading about this and of course
But eBay has skirted all responsibility for any illegal transactions claiming that eBay is ONLY A VENUE They are sueing Ebay and the buyers, not the sellers who are making the illegal disk.
Will ebay ever take responsibility for anything? You would think they would get tired of all the bad publicity they get over this statement and finally do something.
I received a letter from the Embroidery Software Protection Coalition stating that I MUST contact them in reference to some "pirated & copyrighted" designs that I had previously purchased on Ebay. According to the letter I could face legal proceedings in Federal Court. Am I the only one who put my faith in the sellers on Ebay & Ebay itself???? OK, I know that ignorance is no excuse for the law....but I thought Ebay monitored selling & would not allow anything that could get the buyer in legal & financial trouble. I will call the coalition tomorrow (my 1st chance since I got the letter Friday evening). The coalition DOES have a web site & for all of you who are buying designs I suggest you go to this site & read the LAWS. www.embroideryprotection.org PLEASE, if anyone has any info on this subject let me know! Just had to vent because I was looking for some designs and now I too chicken to buy anything.

Answer
I don't know much about bootlegging, but it seems pretty butt-backwards to me that the buyers should be the ones in trouble
eBay sure plays the "only a venue" card to their advantage!!!....IMO, the sellers who are selling this stuff should be the ones held accountable for the copyright problems....How would a buyer even know until they receive the disc, even if then???
