Online criminals chasing Web users away

Question
3 out of 10 reducing their time on the Internet due to fear of fraud.
Today alone I must of sent 10 Spoof emails to either Ebay or Paypal.
More than half of online users trust sites where one can set up automatic payment of bills, and 6 in 10 say they trust auction sites either a lot or somewhat. It is surprising that Ebay still continues to grow at the rate they are growing. Although Eventually something will have to give, you can't keep losing customers due to fraud and expect to keep replacing them forever with new blood. sooner or later there will be no more new blood.

Answer
...you can't keep losing customers due to fraud and expect to keep replacing them forever with new blood. sooner or later there will be no more new blood. That's why they're in China. Heck, China is a major source of fraud to begin with, so why not open up shop there????

Answer
Amazon is being crushed with spoofs as well. Click one bad email link and your account is shut down. Then, it's off to the 877 number to get it back up again. Ugh...

Answer
I don't see 1500 people as a MAJOR survey as mentioned in the article you posted. Not when it comes to the internet.
And I've been selling online for 5 years and I don't trust much of anything on the net. BUT I do things to protect myself such as using a credit card for every purchase.
Remember when the 'net was called the "Information Superhighway"? I view it the same way as an interstate highway. The guy in the car next to me may know what he's doing but then again, he may be an idiot. So I drive defensively....same way I navigate the "Information Superhighway".
Yes, I know the above is rather simplistic but I tend to go with the KISS principle.
Bottom line is every statistic I read indicates more and more people are doing more and more of everything online.
