SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - EBay Inc. (EBAY.O: Quote, Profile, Research) will buy VeriSign's payment processing business for $370 million and merge it with its PayPal unit as part of a wider e-commerce payment services and security alliance, the companies said on Monday.

Didn't that slogan start with BillPoint?
And with slight modification applies to the US auction market by trading Japan to YAHOO for the US and Europe, paying off AOL to stay out of the game, not to mention classified sites, Half.com, China, ProStores, Blackthornes.... well you get the idea.
What might be interesting is what will happen when/if the "Free Pass" cards they bought from the Republican Party for places like the FTC and SEC get voided after the next election.

Ah, good point, but somehow from how I've seen the Democrats do things, they'll throw the same cards up for sale at a 1/4 of the price. They're smart like that.
