I have a friend who is 'giving up computers' and wants to close his eBay and Paypal account. He is going to take a break for the winter and says that if he ever goes back online he will use a payment service such as hyperwallet, or some other choices he rhymed off that I can't remember right now.
If he closes his paypal account can he open another one later on?
Any pointers of suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

he should be able to open an account with PP with no problem, but he might lose his alias and definitely will lose his feedback record with eBay.
I think he is doing the right thing, a closed account cannot be hijacked, at least not that I know of.

Gabs: Thanks for responding! Do you mean his user ID on eBay when you refer to his alias? I don't think he cares if he loses his user ID or feedback as I think he has some negs on it from when he first started out.
But I'm not sure of how to actually go in and close a Paypal account. He called and asked this morning and I said I would look it up for him. I've been away all afternoon so will go and see what I can find.
If anyone knows a quick way to do this I'd aprreciate hearing from you.

To close a paypal acct log in and click on Profile>Account Information>Close Account. That should take you to the correct page.
