Question
tried to sign in to my PayPal account this morning and got the message -You must log in before you access this page.
After trying several times, cleaning my cache yada, yada, yada, I looked on boards and found no threads, called (at my expense) and got the little help automated system.
I finally accepted the nearest available option that "I forgot my password" (heaven help us they would have an option that their website has a problem) and reset my password.
Still can't access account and receive same error message.
I then used the contact by email optrion but with a reply promised within two or three days I also decided to start asking elsewhere.
Anyone else having problems.
With no EOA emails and no PayPal account access selling is even more a challange this week than usual.
Answer
I just signed in and didn't have any problems.
Answer
Nope, no problems here Ray...
Answer
Today has been pretty quick for me with PayPal. More quick than usual, even? Who knows... :-)
Answer
Thanks. I found and resolved the problem.
PayPal require that everyone accept a cookie when signing on and I had blocked the PayPal cookie.
The night before the problem started I had been surfing random historical sites and when prompted to accept cookies I had clicked on "block cookies" and "Apply my decision to all cookies from this web site"
One site had asked to set a PayPal cookie which I found unusual and I blocked it. It sells census and land records from Ireland. Why set a PayPal cookie?
Anyway, when I tried to sign on the next morning my computer would not allow a PayPal cookie and I got a message "You must log in before you access this page"
That start a several hour process of trying to find the problem.
Wandering through my computer files I finally came accross the blocked site file, found PayPal.com on the list, removed it and all is well.
If they had just showed a message that I must accept cookies and that option was blocked it could have saved a lot of time and frustration.
Still no answer from my email to PayPal and I'll be interested to see what help they suggest.
Another completely unnecessary problem that would be easily resolved with good communication.
