Question
Just wondered if anyone has put up a prostore. At the site you can't see any samples at all.
How's it been working for you?
Jill
Answer
I had one for 1 day, set it up and then realized they have no inventory control for the ProStores Business Solutions, which is all my budget would allow. Cancelled the next day, but it was very easy and fast to set up and also integrate with PayPal payments.
Answer
I also tried it for a few days then cancelled. it was incredibly slow on dialup compared to what I use now, I would have been much less productive with it.
if you go to the ebay stores board and search on prostores, you'll find several threads where it has been discussed there that should be helpful.
Answer
What is a Pro Store? Isn't it just your own website? If so, why would anyone go through eBay to make a website?
Answer
Thanks for the info. I 'll go check out the boards.

I've asked myself that questions, as well...
Other than the ease of incorporating inventory from pro store to eBay and vise versa.
I must say it's a wise business move for eBay, as I'm sure they see many sellers slacking off and moving away from eBay day by day.
I know I am!
Cheers
Answer
prostores has an integrated checkout so when the customer clicks on the checkout button, they are taken to your website to finish checking out. supposedly, this will help you to upsell additional inventory to them from you website so sans the ebay stores fees of 8% (instead it's .5% I believe but would have to double check).
this was very appealing to me but just was too slow running on dialup. the cost was fine by me as I pay approximately the same now with the system I have but do not have the integration.
Answer
Ok, let's assume that the site's are easy to setup, I think it's better to just invest the money into your own site. It's like paying for an apartment when you could pay mortgage for the same amount (or less) and OWN everything you put your money into. I'd hate to have my own site without eBay's traffic, but with their fees... PayPal taking funds from our site chaps my a$$ enough as is, eBay on top of that would just make me snap lol.
Answer
I've only briefly looked into prostores and while it is somewhat appealing I doubt i will subscribe. When I feel im ready to have my own website and move away from ebay, i want to move COMPLETELY away from ebay... not just 1/2 way.
