Question
Ok, for those who uses PayPal's debit card to with draw money, make sure you check your account right now.
Apparently paypal made updates which completely screwed up everytrhing.
If you withdraw money from an ATM between August 31 and Sept 2nd,
sometimes the system will take out DOUBLE the amount.
So let's say today you withdraw $400. The next day it will say taht you took out $400 x 2 = $800.
If this happens to you, call paypal right away and ask to be conencted to the credit card department regarding the glitch.
Answer
Thanks.
...time to call PayPal about the double entry for a 9/1 atm withdrawal
Answer
There are many complaints (and many threads) about this on eBay's PayPal board, and many people complaining that they now have a negative balance in their PayPal accounts as a result of this glitch.

Answer
I transferred a large chunk of money to my debit card from my checkimg account to have for the move & travel expenses in 2-1/2 weeks....
....transfer was done a little before midnight 8-30, PayPal had the money zapped to them by my bank on Sept. 1st, but PP shows that it won't "expect to clear" until Sept. 6th!
So the money is floating in la-la-land until Tuesday evidently.....which means the buttwipes are using the float every chance they get!

Yep..We paid for our postage friday morning and took out an extra 50.00 for a total of 106.00 and I see it's up there twice, once as completed and once as pending..I also have a payment setting up there completed that I've never received an email for.
I tried using their email form to contact them and when I hit send it took me back to my account..I guess I'll have to stand in line and call them later.
Answer
Good grief... they took out another $400 this morning.
ow I have to call them again to get my money back.

I hope Googl's alternative comes out soon.
Answer
After 1 1/2 hours on hold, we did get the double entries reversed a few minutes ago.
The CS rep just told me that the "glitch" is not fixed yet, and ANY pin-based (i.e. debit) transactions you make with the debit card will result in a double debit...so if you're going to use the card, use it as a credit card not debit until the problem is fixed.
Answer
I think it's a ploy to get rid of the cashback program.
Answer
Heck, I NEVER use my PP as a debit card. I am a credit only chick with it to get my $$ back. Has this affected anyone with credit purchases? I don't see anything screwy on my account . . . yet.

One of the 3 debit card rep told me that it's only when it's used as debit card thus Pin based transaction.
2 of the 3 debit card rep said that it's on all types of transactions.
The double debit usually appears within 24 hours.
Because of this 3 times nonsense, I almost got a negative in my account.
