Question
I've bid on some items, used the shipping calculator and see that it's erroneous. I mean, high shipping charges for priority on less than 1 lb item from Utah to NY. $10.95? Huh? Christ the item is 5 inches long and not lead but a Leatherman working tool. Not heavy. So, what's up if anyone knows. I'm concerned enough to ask questions to the sellers...if thats an accurate price. Anyone noticing the same? Thanks in advance.
Answer
On the shipping calculators I've seen the seller sets the price. They put in the regular shipping (like priority)and then add the handling charge and/or insurance and anything else they want to charge you for. So when you put in the zip code it figures the regular price plus whatever you want it to add.
Answer
I alway use the ebay shipping calculator, but I set it so it figures the shipping based on the weight of the package and where the buyer is located. I can also include a small amount for handling. I sure hope bidders would contact me if they get some strange amount. So far, I've had no problems.
