Question
Bye, bye my eBay MBNA credit card then!
Discontinuation of eBay Anything Points ®</SPAN>
We have decided to discontinue the eBay Anything Points program on the U.S. Ebay site. The process of transitioning certain features and functionality related to the eBay Anything Points program will begin immediately and continue over the next few months, with the program officially ending on February 28, 2006. However, you will still be able to use any points you have accumulated until August 31, 2006 (all points that have not been used by August 31, 2006 will become invalid).
Please note that the eBay Anything Points program will remain in effect on eBay Canada.
Starting August 15th, sellers will no longer be able to offer Anything Points as an incentive on new listings (listings already offering eBay Anything Points on this date will continue to do so). On September 30th, 2005, we will remove eBay Anything Points from any listings still offering them.
For more information about your eBay Anything Points Credit Card, please contact your respective credit card provider at the number printed on the back of your credit card.
For more information regarding the phase-out of Anything Points, please see the Anything Points home page.
eBay Anything Points must be used in conjunction with a valid PayPal account and in accordance with the eBay Anything Points Loyalty Program Terms and Conditions.
edit: Didn't realize it would copy the links intact. Seems legit to me, they had my name and points balance right in the email, but I still wouldn't click em.
Answer
I never earned even ONE point anyways.
Answer
I've earned tons. I've taken up to $55 off an eBay invoice at one time.
Answer
Careful with cancelling your MBNA credit card. I cancelled ours in 2001.
In 2002 we rec'd some balance transfer checks.
I called & they said the account was cancelled, not to worry.
In 2003 we bought a house, the MBNA account was still showing as open on our credit reports. I filled out the "dispute" paperwork. MBNA filed a response that our account was still open.
I was still stewing a couple weeks later, when lo and behold, we received new credit cards in the mail, telling us our old ones were expiring.
I called MBNA yet AGAIN and fortunately I found the only smart person working there. She figured out their mistake & fixed it for me.
... at least I hope so.
Answer
I also had a heck of a time getting MBNA to close our credit card account.... you definitely can't assume they will follow your instructions the first time around!
Answer
Sounds good to me. I've never offered ebay anything points anyway. Why I issue something that gives buyers the possibility of using them on someone elese stuff? If it was something you could use for the buyer as a future discount for your items THEN it wouldve worked.
