Bidchaser Seller Promotion!

Question
Hi everyone. I list to 9 auction sites, including Bidchaser (and here). Bidchaser is having a huge promo starting July 18.
Go to www.bidchaser.com and sign up for a free auction account. Then sign up for "GearUp" their premium account (it was free when I signed up, think it still is). This gives you free upgrades for life. They approved me even though at the time I didn't meet their minimum feedback rating.
Here's the promo:
I wanted to give you all an update as to our new GearUP program participation. As a lot of you noticed, we have not been sending out the Daily Auction Lotto newsletter with the entry codes, as we were preparing for this new strategy.
However, we will begin sending out the Daily Auction Lotto emails on a daily basis starting on July 18th, so all of the members who have signed up will be able to play and possibly win $500,000! The twist (and benefit to you) is going to be the following:
Instead of using a standard Newsletter type format with generic information, we have decided to create a "Hot Daily Auction Special". This email will include an item and a small "background synopsis" of the seller selling the item. We felt that this would help our sellers get more exposure for themselves and their items, and increase the sales on our site.
Now here's the best part: Each of these informational emails will be submitted by you, the sellers, and we guarantee that every one we receive will be included in this ongoing campaign. All you need to do is submit your "write-up" or "bio" about yourself, and the information on the item you'd like to "spotlight" to ashah*bidchaser.com. We will take your information, format it into our newsletter format, and then send them out on a daily basis. Please make sure that you include some details about the item you are spotlighting, and the link to the item itself so customers can click through to it from the email. This is your opportunity to brag about yourselves to all our members as well, so make it exciting!
So get your writing skills together, and let's get your items more exposure!
Thanks again for being a part of the Evolution of Online Shopping, and look forward to seeing all the great items you have to offer. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at ccunha*bidchaser.com.
Sincerely,
Cesar Cunha

Answer
Bidchaser's a spammer

Answer
Hey, Dave. Could you elaborate? Do you mean Bidchaser didn't send this, or do you mean they aren't actually running this promo?
Thanks!
Lisa

Answer
I meant "Bidchaser's a spammer". Anybody that supports them, supports spam.

well I guess I shall use this smilie as well but for a different purpose.

Ravenscroftceo has been a member here for several months and is also a member of DOUA.
I can see being abrupt when it is a "one off" poster with no history and an affilitation with the company they are describing but at some point we need to inform our members without condeming them.
Raven, I don't know much about the company but apparently they are known for being a bit spammy. (asking their members to promote their business by posting to well known message boards and offering incentatives to members who do this) That is considered "spam" and is frowned upon by most message boards.
Hope this helps and don't sweat it. We all have done this without knowning at one time or another.

Answer
Tanya, I don't think anyone is criticizing Ravenscroftceo here... maybe that isn't clear.
My post wasn't because of Ravenscroftceo's post, but was a response to Dave's link and the links from it that indicate his allegation of spamming by BidChaser are correct.
Ravenscroftceo was just posting an item of interest, and I don't believe they were spamming the forum or anything...

Answer
oops I am sorry Toyranch. Truly Sorry.
I should have known better and shall behave myself from now on.
These long hours at work are making me into a grumpy head.

While the company's requests and rewards encourage spamming by their members, it's actually the members, not the company, who are the spammers. I have chosen not to participate in the activities Bidchaser requests. I'm not a spammer.
I didn't read enough of Sneaky Dave's page to confirm whether or not Bidchaser itself sends out spam; sorry, Dave, but your page is too sarcastic for me. If Bidchaser does send spam, they will eventually get their due.
In the meantime, I like Bidchaser, have had some success selling there, and plan to continue to recommend the site here and wherever else I feel it's appropriate and allowed.
Thanks.
