Seeing as this topic is up again: anybody here a Canadian seller on the US site? I used to be offered Power Seller status every month, I never bothered as
there did not seem to be much advantage, they answered email at the time.
Then they separated the Canadian and US programs and I haven't heard from them since, although sales are increasing (and so are problems) At this point a
phone number for eBay would be great:
How does a Canadian seller grandfathered on the US site get PS status/support?
Any help would be appreciated

Answer
I used to be a Power Seller. Dropped out of the program, got tired of being the mouse in an ebay cage. Got NO real benefits from ebay then. But, haven't they changed afew things? Discounts on dental or something like that...In any event. I had no reason to go back to being a PS, I sell just as much, when I want to and have the time to. Otherwise, it doesn't matter.

Answer
nope I haven't heard from them since they developed the powersellersCA attitude. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

I made PS this month. Signed up just to check out the insurance. I already have the discount health card through Care Entree so that wasn't any help. The "real" insurance would cost me $975 a month for me and my husband here in Nevada so that wasn't much help either. Guess we will remain uninsured a while longer.
I also didn't get the phone number for support. Just a special email address where they do answer my questions really fast but no personal contact. They do at least read them though and I got a real answer not a canned one.
But, that said, I will probably let it lapse this month. I don't have the energy to guarantee those sales every month with Ebay being up one week and down the next. And, sales didn't change at all with the little logo by my name. In fact, they dropped, but I blame it on the slow week lots of us had.

Answer
I did sign up when I qualified, mostly because I wanted a Power Seller certificate (to hang next to my Red Star one, because I think they're funny, no one else ever comes into my "office"), and that's pretty much all I used it for. I lasted 8 months, and summer doldrums disqualified me. I just re-qualified this month, but I already have a certificate. I never saw any other advantage for the lowest level, which is as far as I got.
Also, if you want the certificate, make sure you alter you preferences to accept mailings from EBay, I waited a few months for mine, then had to ask where it was. They couldn't send it til I altered my settings.

You get to go to ebay Live for free and bring a guest for free. At least, that was the deal this past year. In spite of qualifying many times, that was the only time that I actually signed up. Then I had to let my sales on that account drop so that I gould get that dammed "PowerSeller" icon off my ID. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

Answer
Well I reckon that about settles it. I cannot see that there is anything that I could gain by becoming a power seller. I have insurance, I haved their phone number, and I have plenty of sales each month. Usually around $3000, which is just fine for a couple of old folks just trying to supplement a retirement income. Our present sales keep us as busy as we want. In fact I slowed waaaay up on our listing until we get caught up and maybe ahead a little bit. I figure we will let er rip at Thanksgiving until the middle of December and then only list a couple of items to keep our name out there. My next question will be about having an Ebay "Store"
Thanks folks, you have been tons of help. Appreciate it.
