Shipwire

Question
Anyone ever heard of this?? or more importantly had any good or bad experience with them?
Tom

Answer
Haven't heard a peep about them. What are they? First thought you were asking about "shipwreck" and my first thought is-that's what happened to the "Black Rock" to get it all the way in the middle of the island

I probably should have given a link to them....

Their claim is "Seamless shipping of envelopes, packages and freight."
Seems to be an interesting proposition, but since no one appears to have heard of them... much less use them... I am more than a bit sceptical.

Answer
I've used them a few times. A couple of usps labels, and one table. For the table, they actually sent someone out to pick it up, pack it, and then my son-in-law got it about a week later. No real problems to report.
I can still find the article where I first learned about them. Here:

We have partnered with Endicia to offer their postage through the Shipwire Web site. There will be a formal announcement shortly.
Pricing details:
* Whereas Endicia charges a monthly fee for postage, our basic postage pricing is a flat fee: $0.20 per label, plus $0.13 for delivery confirmation on media mail, parcel post and first class, and free with priority and express. To get this pricing, we need you to prepay for postage in $20 increments, and join our rebate program.
* Our 2% rebate program is an incentive for businesses to give their vendors and suppliers sub-accounts for shipping to their locations. Then a business saves on outgoing, and incoming, postage and freight.
* Our big value add is our packages of services. For example, you would pay $0.63 on top of postage, to send a media mailing with $100 insurance and delivery confirmation. These same services would cost $2.75 at the post office. (For that price, we give you $800 coverage.)
* Yes, we offer postage for flat rate envelopes and boxes.

Anyone want to become a Shipwire Agent, enroll new members and then get 2% commission on all the new member's online bookings?
And, while you at it, why not become an Endicia Affiliate and get $10 for every new customer you refer to Endicia.
Since eBay is so slow, there's lots of money to be made here, especially for the website owners.

Answer
Does anyone use Greyhound for eBay shipments?
As of today, Greyhound PackageXpress is available through Shipwire. We offer door-to-door and terminal-to-terminal service. Greyhound gave us exclusive discounts. Our shipping calculator also gives instant Greyhound quotes.
We are in the midst of adding about a dozen new services. So we won't be formally announcing this feature for a few weeks.
