Question
I searched closed auctions and can't find any of these, searched Google and can't find any of these. I know it is fairly valuable but not sure at all how much to start it at. I'd like to do a reserve auction but not sure what reserve to put on it. I could just start it at $99 or less and see what happened..not sure how best to go about putting this on eBay. Any one out there know of a site that has prices realized [or prices for sale] for these pens?
It is a very nice Parker DuoFold Lucky curve desk set from 1911 with faux ivory pen top.Original 14K lucky curve nib.
I need some ideas before I list it.
Answer
duofold pens
I would go with the 99.00 no reserve, it looks pretty safe by the research.
Answer
Gabs..I searched ebay and my search did not come up with any Duofold desk sets..how'd you do that? Your search had two or so..Desk sets price totally differently than the regular pens.
I do think the $99 no reserve is the way to go. Thanks for the assist!!
Answer

you are most welcome, good luck, let us watch
Answer
I used to sell a lot of fountain pens. They were hot but have started cooling off. Rare items will probably continue to do well. The more common stuff has definitely cooled off.
You might get a nice price, if the condition is nice.
The 1911 date is a patent date - the pen was surely made after that date. Parker made pens with the "Lucky Curve" trademark up until about 1930 or so. Does it actually say "Duofold" on it? I believe the "Duofold" name was introduced around 1924. Most Parker pens from circa 1924 to 1930 will carry the Duofold and Lucky Curve designations.
Is the pen barrel made of hard rubber? If so, it's likely pre-1927 (usually black, sometimes orange/red, or other colors). If it's a colorful plastic, or black plastic, it's likely 1926-1930.
