Silly seller terms

Question
I was browsing some listings and found some pretty silly terms-
Someone actually has this in their TOS-
"IMPORTANT: You may purchase delivery confirmation for .55 more. You may purchase insurance for 1.30 per hundred dollars you spend. We have no way of tracking your packages unless you do one or the other. Delivery confirmation allows you to track your purchase online, insurance allows to file a claim with your post office. We are not responsible if your items are broken or lost if you don't purchase delivery confirmation or insurance."
Doh! Isn't DC for the sellers protection? To prove they shipped?
Oh, and below this, is this-
"Shipping insurance
US $1.50 "
I guess they charge you 20 cents to purchase the insurance for you.

Answer
I love sellers like this, I am surprised they are not ripped off more. If I were an unscrupulous buyer, I would buy (with paypal only of course) and then file a claimof non-receipt. no DC = free money. I advertise that all of my shipments come with delivery confirmation (and they do) to avoid this problem. When I switched a few years ago, it was amazing how many "my package never arrived" emails just stopped.

Answer
Saw this today ...
SHIP TO US ONLY..NO HAWAII/ALASKA

Answer
My favourite has always been "gently" used.

Answer
Actually since paypal charges fees on the insurance as well, sellers are starting to charge 1.50 for the insurance to help cover the fees.

Answer
I'm with Doofy on this one. Gently used...to me that means dirty and smelling of cigarette smoke.
I love the AK/HI are not part of the US terms.

Answer
A typically ignorant seller. I have run into a couple lately.
They also appear to be oblivious to the fact that you only get up to $50 worth of insurance from USPS for the first $1.30 or 1.50, and pay $2.30 for $100 worth.
If they are shipping UPS or FEDEX the first $100 insurance is included in the base fee.
Of course AL and HI are just Zone 8 destinations, unless you use a commerical shipper.
Bet they would hit the ceiling if a shipping address to Puerto Rico was received. It is also part of the US Postal System. Of course, my local bank wants to process checks from there as expensive "Foreign" payments with a $35 handling charge, when they are actually part of the US banking system as well.
Ignorance....it is amazing how many not only don't have a clue, but defend their ignorance to the end. Did I mention I am having a problem with a seller even as I write this? I am letting Paypal and eBay handle it, since his communications started nasty and have gone downhill from there. Accused me of "fraud" because I have more than one eBay id for starters.
