I got a wells fargo Qcheck in my mail today for $1850
it looks unfrakinbeliavably real.
Went to wells fargo and asked them to do a check and sure enough even the customer service manager can't tell if it's real or not. I told them to check the person's account and the serial , etc. And I was right, it's fake, with a real account number on it.
THese nigerian *******s now have ways to get people in USA to make it harder for us. Shipping address is also in USA.

I'd suggest calling your local Secret Service or FBI office and turning in a report on the attempted fraud using the check. I imagine WF will report it to the police, who will create a paper report and do nothing. With there being someone in the USA who benefits, there is a great chance the person who started the scam is right here pretending to be there, or there is a co-conspirator here who can be charged.
I'd keep a photocopies of the fake, and printed copies of the correspondence, and offer to forward all the emails, etc. Don't forget the email headers...

well, the scammer emailed me and asked if I got it yet. I said no and I told him to send me a new check.

Then 2 weeks later thie Franklin guy emailed me.
Thing is, I know how to look at a check and money order. I know how to check the ink especially =)

I thought BidPay only do eBay auctions. Did that change? If not, then anyone trying to pay you via BidPay for a non-eBay item is an automatic tipoff.
