Beware!
Answer
now Dave, in all fairness to Loudfrog, I have chatted with him here through PM several times, I have never received spam from his site, yet....I do not belong to FAS either though, nor was I involved in the WP fiasco sign up thread.
But, he could have handled that thread a bit more diplomatically, as well, I would really like to know who that company is, because I would not be surprised if that is the one lifting emails from this site.
I made a yahoo account for a lisitng contest year or 2 ago, I posted the email addy right in the thread, within two days I had this type of spam.....and it just kept on coming, which means they sold the email addy several times.
Eventually I just wrote yahoo and asked them to close down the account.
I would sure like to know "who" he hired and have this bunch around here roast the companies backside
Answer
Just to clarify - I wasn't on the WP fiasco thread either. I had a bad feeling about wagglepop, based on the way Ray handled criticism.

Why would he spam you if he already knew who you were? Maybe he just didn't screen scrape your email address yet.
Answer
Dave, maybe he hasn't "screen Scraped" me yet....man that sounds like it would hurt
but that's ok, no hard feelings here about it though, it gives me a deleting item to look forward to.
Why should he....because I list a lot and I have never visited his site....
Answer
I haven't had any problems out of loudfrog.
I don't trust much of what is posted on FAS after my dealings with them.
Answer
I'm not part of some big conspiracy, mysterious. I just tried to tell him that I was disappointed, and things blew out of proportion. His responses, more than anything, tell the story over there.
There's also a complaint on powersellersunite, and a spam blacklist that he's now a member of. It's not just FAS.
Answer
Actually Jen, he never denied spamming you....
and it was his responses in the thread that hung his butt, nothing else
How a business owner handles a complaint, makes or breaks them
A fine example was lunarbid.....check out his thread here for professionalism, he really set a good example.
Answer
I don't read the threads over at FAS anymore.
I never said you were part of a conspiracy, Jen. I have great respect for you. I think spamming is beyond annoying and I think spammers need to be strung up. I went ahead and read the thread real fast and I am suspicious about the supposed marketing company. I hope you reported the spam to your isp.
Answer
Originally I wasn't going to report. However, the response I received, including some vague reference about "knowing more about Jen, and not wanting to embarrass her" had changed my mind on that. I don't need some low-ethic spammer insinuating that I have anything to hide.
I reported through SpamCop, through his ISP, and to the FTC. I've actually received private messages from others asking me where to report. They also weren't going to report - were going to give the benefit of the doubt - until his responses.
There was a post here on here the other day that really showed some insight. Someone was reminding auction2005 about the number of people that read these message boards . . . that these places need to be treated with respect.
Last time I checked the Loudfrog thread "over there" there were over 1000 views. The biggest lesson site owners could take away from that thread - which could have ended quickly with a "oops, mea culpa, I won't do it again" - is that their actions on these boards will be read, criticized, and searchable for quite a while.
Mysterious - the respect is mutual. I understand your reluctance to read threads from "over there."
