I might not be a good buyer - what do you think?

Question
Yesterday morning I found some DVDs in one seller's eBay store, and bought 4 of them. I paid immediately with PayPal. Shipping is Priority (Great, because I know my mom will like them a lot and they can go with the other stuff we're giving her!).
I then sent a "Just to let you know, I've made payment for xxxxxxx via Paypal" email to the address eBay provided for the seller (I know sometimes the Paypal payment notices are slow or non-existant). I got back this instant Autoreply:
Dear XXXXXX:
We will be out of the office from April 28th thru May 2nd. All email will be replied to on May 2nd.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXX !!
As a Seller I always give my buyers lots of time to respond/contact/pay after EOA. But as a Buyer, this has me a bit miffed. There was nothing in the listing to let buyers know they'd be away, but also there was nothing in the Store to let you know that either.
Listen, I'm not silly enough to have been doing my Mother's Day shopping on eBay this late, but I did think it would be nice to have the DVD's in time for next Sunday, and since stated shipping is Priority, I was thinking they might make it. Now I've found out after I've paid that my stuff won't begin to be processed until Monday. Plus, I would never have even known it if I hadn't sent a separate email to the seller.
I'm thinking about asking the seller for a partial refund on the shipping. Do you think that's reasonable? How likely do you think it is that they had a personal emergency (that just happened to coincide with the weekend) so they were unable to set their store on Vacation, or at least have the Vacation banners appear? (I guess I'm thinking they didn't do it because they didn't want to lose any sales).
See what I mean? I'm much more patient as a seller...

Answer
In my opinion, you are reaching. BIN does not mean ship it now. If you want ship it now, inquire before buying.
Also, today is Saturday. Monday sounds reasonable to me. That is the next business day. I personally doubt they will ship on Monday if they are coming back from a trip. Who knows.

Please remember that you DID ask: I'm thinking about asking the seller for a partial refund on the shipping. Do you think that's reasonable? Let's see....you assumed that you could BIN items from a store on a Friday and that they would be IN the mail to you before the weekend was over....and since they evidently won't be, you are "entitled" to a partial refund on shipping?
Have to agree with commentary....you ARE stretching quite a bit there. BIN may mean instant gratification; but it doesn't mean instant shipping.
Put yourself in that seller's shoes and imagine what YOU would think if you received such an email from a buyer.

Answer
Thanks for your responses! That's why I posted, because I wasn't sure I was being reasonable. I had a feeling I wasn't, even though part of me felt like throwing a tantrum!
I need to relax a little. (Or a LOT )
Thanks again!

Answer
Go eat some chocolate. Chocolate is the answer for every problem. Always!

Answer
Except Pimples.

Answer
You are definitely being unreasonable. People have a life...even eBay Sellers. Sounds like the seller taking the weekend off is not unreasonable...I do it quite often and NEVER ship on weekends. Since they will know it is going to be a Mother's Day gift most likely they will get in the mail priority either Monday or Tuesday and you will still get it in time for MD.

That's a myth. Chocolate doesn't cause pimples. (Well, it MIGHT if you're allergic.) I've verified this with several dermatologists.
Now, if you had said 'Except Weight Loss' I'd have a harder time disagreeing with you. (Though I have heard said a small amount of plain dark chocolate satisifes dessert cravings. Plus studies show dark chocolate has health benefits as an anti-oxidant. So maybe mysteriouscutie is right after all... )
