Question
Talking about categories, I'm having a really hard time categorizing my artists' works. The abstract oil paintings are easy; but the fused & slumped glass is almost impossible. Rather than listing them in Art, where they belong, I have had to list some of them in Home Decor categories because there just isn't any place to put them under Art. (I have "cheated" and put some of them into Art:something&Sculpture, Glass.) The categories are not nearly refined enough.
The one I really had the most problem with was the art glass hummingbird wind chime. Don't remember now where I stuck it, but I do remember I couldn't find anything about wind chimes anywhere in the categories!
Does anybody have any advice about categorizing unique art forms? That's almost all I offer, and I refuse to put anything into an "Other" category.
I do know that my items sell better under the Art category than anywhere else. I do paper cutworks and when I put them under Art:paintings they started selling. Of course they're not paintings; will eBay bust me for this?
Thanks for any advice.
Answer
When all else fails I list under 'self representing artist"
Answer
Ebay will never bust you
other ebay members may report your auctions and then ebay may remove them or not.
I would list in several catigories. how large is your glass?? you might try the lampwork glass catigory in beads.
art can go in several catigories it's art.
