Answer
It has been almost three years since the last increases, so I suppose it is time. Of course, this also means both UPS and Fedex will raise their rates too.
They always do right after a postal increase.

Answer
UPS and Fed Ex go up almost every year whether USPS had an increase or not?
Answer
A good time to pass along the expenses.
Answer
they'd just do a better job! Honestly, the post offices around me have gotten worse and worse about losing stuff, mixing up people's mail and rudeness! I know there are some lovely people at the PO, but there are some arrogant $#%R$# too.

I sent out 30 packages 1 week ago.... I got 7 buyers emailing be about damaged goods.... they better pull their act together first.
Answer
Global Priority..Scam... = send the package, uninsured, Post Office doesn't trace package depsite customs label on it. Then says uninsured, sorry. Um, it's a matter of delivery. I paid, you didn't deliver. I'll take my $10.95 back and the merchandise amount too.

If I had that many packages being damaged, I would seriously review my packing methods. Over the past 8 years I have shipped thousands of packages by USPS and UPS and only had two damage problems. The items range from CDs (the front covers crack easily) to DVD Players.
I have also shipped champagne flutes without a problem, though correct packing takes time, thought and experience.
I always try to remember the mechanical systems that are used, and prepare my package for a 10' drop. (Think baggage carousels and a heavy bag hitting your little parcel.)

10' drop doesn't cut it, we use a better method- a 10' throw into a wall, no item we pack will break.
