Don't try changing your cross-promotions!

Question
Went to do it tonight, and all it would let me do is change the order of the four items they have preselected. I usually change over to manual and go pick out of my store, like items in the same price range as the auction.
So I notice things look a little "different" click on the option to go to manual, and instead of a CHANGE ITEM button, I get CHANGE ORDER. So I could not actually change the items just their order, a lot of good that does me!
I got so frustrated, I went and changed my preferences and opted out of cross-promotions until I can once again, promote the items I want, not what eBay picks.

Answer
G'day Brodysmom,
Whilst it would be far prefereable to select your cross promotions to target similar buys, isn't it better to leave the "picked" cross promotion enabled just in case it does still encourage a bidder to look at another item you have listed? Any additional bid is a benefit, even if the service has stopped offering precisely what you want.
I do note from my View Tracker that I do get hits from cross promotion, and I do not go in and select my cross promotion items at all.
Kind Regards, Kevin

Answer
eBay is in the process of implementing some enhancements to the Cross Promotion tool. Instead of just categories, you can now use keywords. Also, you can cross promote up to 12 items. Unfortunately, while adding these enhancements, eBay broke the manual change item button. LOL

Unfortunately, while adding these enhancements, eBay broke the manual change item button. LOL It's just not an "enhancement" unless it stuffs something up!

Come on Blanche....everybody knows that Rule #1 at eBay is if you are going to fix something that isn't broke and it actually ends up WORKING, that you are required to break something else!

Answer
Hi Kevin,
The thought did cross my mind, but if I am auctioning a $10 book with no reserve and my cross promotions are promoting $100+ books, I doubt it will encourage bidders to take a look-see. I try to promote like items, subject matter, price range etc and once they get in the store if they see the $125 book they are more than welcome to buy it, but I don't need them turned off initially thinking all I carry are higher end books.
So until they fix what they broke, I am still opting out.

Answer
Been there, done that, too late.
It's still not working this morning. Change Item button is still grayed out.
Also, while I'd read about the new keyword function last night, it was too late for me to work with it as a temporary workaround. This morning, that function is gone. It was accessible through the link where you choose what store categories you want your cross promotions to feed from. This morning, that entire link is gone from the Manage My Store page! Where there were 2 links, there is now only one - the one where you choose your radio buttons.
Let's hope they fix this ASAP - like today!

Answer
Change Item button is still grayed out. I'm not even seeing even a grayed out button! All that's showing for me is change order *sigh*

Answer
It's been down since late last evening, so I'd say it's been about 15 - 16 hours at least.

Answer
Someone from eBay finally posted on the Stores board.
In short, they know about it, they did it on purpose, and it's taking longer than expected to get it back online again.
But, did you really expect a different answer?
