Question
Can I list a book on collectible glass shoes in that section?, or does it have to go in the nonfiction section. People might not even be aware that this book exists. Several years ago I did this quite successfully, but I know their has been a zillion changes.
I don't want my auctions shut down. So Can I?????

Most of the tablecloth ID books are listed in the tablecloth category. I don't think you will be shut down if you list yours in CG.

I sell a lot of books. and I don't restrict listing in just the books categories, if I think I will get more looks in a different category, that's where I will put my listing. If I have an old book regarding some type of hobby, it goes in that hobbie's categories. So give it a try, you have nothing to lose and you just might get more looks and bids.

I shop in pottery all the time, and there are many books listed in there. I don't really like it much, as a buyer, but it's easy to remove them from my search, and it doesn't make me angry --like a book about auto parts in that category would. I always advocate listing puzzles in categories other than puzzles. I say go for it.

I just had some Westmorland glass books and I listed them in the book section plus the Westmorland glass catergory.
You can list your books about anyplace you want to put them..I had an old Hardware book and I put it over in the tools section in collectables and it sold.

I often list Horse Training/Riding books in category Sports:Equestrian as well as in Books:Pets:Horse.
I list Elementary books in Everything Else: Educational as often as in Books:NonFiction.
And so on.

I see no reason not to list a book in the appropriate section, especially a glass book being liste din the glass section. the people who need it will see it better. For future reference, there are many, many non-book category categories through-out eBay.

I mostly sell non-fiction when I sell books. Since the introduction of item specifics I will try to get any books I list into a relevant "browseable" category, even if I double category with a book category. It seems to work for me, but, while I use them as necessary, I have an "unnatural" aversion to item specifics.

95% of my sales are books and records and everytime I have to stop and stick in the item specifics while listing up at Inkfrog I gently curse under my breath ,but it's a necessary evil...I used to be able to toss up my auctions pretty quick but those days are over.
I've been running most of my records over on Yahoo the last month but I'm having some major problems with their offline lister..I see they just emailed me a fix this morning..I'll have to give it a try later today.
I looked at my Yahoo bill the other day and it was $9.50 ..lol..at a nickel an auction it's a pretty good buy compared to Ebay.
