anyone know a easy thumbnail generator

Question
I have spent hours and downloaded several programs today and am totally frustrated.
I am wanting a simple program to create thumbnails for my website. I really like the clicpic as it is so easy and creates the html and uploads all from her program. However I do not want the big center pic, I want them all to be small.
anybody know of anything?? I was able to create galleries with some but for the life of me could not figure out how to get it to my website. I guess I need a program that will convert them and upload too. Make sense??
Thanks for any help!!

Answer
Janet,
I don't know how much (if anything) that you wish to spend. But FrontPage does this with ease.

Answer
I did a search on eBay, and 98 versions of FrontPage can be had for around $20.00, 2000 version for around $30.00. I am sure less if you did some hunting!
2000 did make some things much easier, especially databases.

Answer
janet,
do you want the thumbnails to be clickable or just small pics?

Answer
oops!
I use a free program called picture tray. All it does is create thumbnails, you drag the ones you want thumbnailed into the window, it creates them and then you drag those pics to a folder. The program only creates the pics, it doesn't change the original pic and it doesn't save them to disk so you have to do that yourself. Then you upload them to your webspace.
oscommerce automatically creates thumbnail pics for you http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif

I highly recommend Easy Thumbnails. It's freeware and is a very small program. It creates thumbnails one at a time or as many as you want in one step in seconds. You decide the dimensions of the thumbnail and select the files.
I usually put my images in two file folders - those which require a squarish thumbnail and those that require a longish thumbnail. Then I batch process each folder of images with one size setting and select another size setting for the other folder of images.
Edited to add: I just reread the initial post. Easy Thumbnails won't upload the files. It just creates thumbnails on your hard drive.

Answer
Can't you use an FTP program to upload the thumbnails to your webspace?
Janet, does your web host support PHP?

Answer
If your web host supports PHP (most do) there's a really good gallery program which is FREE called Gallery http://gallery.menalto.com/
To install it you have to upload (ftp) the Gallery files to your website and then run a configuration script. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow.
Here's a sample of some of the galleries you can make using this free program:

Good Morning!
Thanks for all the responses.
I was not making myself clear..http://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif.... as usual.
What I am looking for is a program that creates the thumbnail with the larger pic and then creates the html so that all I have to do is enter the html on to my web page.
Similar to this auction I did with clicpic but with them you have to use the large center viewing pic. I want them all small. This program does it all with a few clicks then generates the html to enter in. scroll down to center to view the gallery
I did try easy thumbs but could not figure out how to get the html code, then I decided it must just generate the thumbnail with out the ablitity to click thru to the larger picture,
I am able to create this with netscape but it takes several steps with lots of cut and paste, when I used clicpic it was so easy to drag and drop then click and upload that I wanted to find a software like this for just the website. I emailed Karen (who is super sweet) and they do not make anything like this. (yet).
anyhooo, I thought maybe someone else here in here land would know as I spent 8 hours trying and could not find one.
hope this makes sense and y'all are wonderful for helping me out!! ((hugs))
