Question
can a seller see the AMOUNTS of the bids BEFORE the END of the auction???....It's been a while since I listed, but I remember that as being hidden until the end of auction??...
Has it always been like that and it's just my memory that's faulty (NOT a real surprize to me!)
OR
Is it new??
Answer
That's been the same way.....no change.
If auction has several bids on it....you know them all, except what the high bidder might have for a proxy.
Is this what you mean ?
this auction for example
Answer
Yeah...That's it!....
I would have bet money that that info wasn't revealed until the end of the auction...But now that I'm a senior citizen, I guess I should stop betting on things I "think" I remember!
Thanx for the response...
Answer
You're welcome
With all the changes ebay likes to make....it's real easy sometimes to get confused......you ain't alone
Answer
G'day Phoenix,
They changed it 12 or 18 months ago (maybe longer, I can not remember the timeframe). All bids were hidden for a long time, but it was changed a while back. It lost the advantage as a bidder, in drawing out the high bidder's highest bid when they left a proxy, and thus not alerting anyone that you knew it, before placing a snipe.
Cheers, Kevin
