Submit an Offer feature

Question
I'm curious if any of you have had luck with this? I used it on the last 12 auctions I put up. I overpriced my Fixed Price and with sold three items using it, getting what I had wanted for the items. Another I just let go to get it out of here (I'm one of those "attic cleaning twits" I read about earlier, ) but still made a buck more than I paid for it.
But now I sit with 8 auctions with no nibbles. I will wait it out.
Oh, and how long do you guess it will take for eBay to tack a .35 cent fee for using it?

Answer
Hi gitem:
I have no intention of ever using the make an offer option.
I figure I already get way to little for what I sell and do not evere intend to sell for any less.
The horse section is already crammed with so much stuff the competition is viscious, so if I overpriced hoping for an offer, I would lose my shirt.
I think a lot would depend on what products you sell if the Make An Offer option is worth using.
I actually don't think ebay will ever charge for that, as I don't think it will ever become a widely used feature.

I think I might give it a try...I just came across an auction yesterday that had the option...gave it a quick look see...Interesting that IF your "best offer" is accepted it is considered a binding bid....I have a couple of items that just finished that didn't sell, but did have a couple of watchers...As an experiment, I think I'll relist 'em tonight with the "Best Offer" option...As long as I can decide if I'll accept it, can't really hurt, can it?

Answer
I use it now and then, just on stuff I want to dump. I usually raise the price up a bit, so I have bargaining room. I think Out of 3 offers, I took 2. One was just unreasonable.

I made an offer and it was declined. The seller had about 9 puzzles for approximately 10 bucks. I offered 10 for one puzzle shipped. I thought that was fair, but evidently not. I really didn't think their auction would get a bid at all, but it did. They could have had two sales...

We tried it for a week
we no longer try it

Answer
Hmm, interesting. I do figure it depends on what it is. I sold two horse models, one for $100 and another for $40 and a model halter for $6.00 after two "offers" of $4.00.
I'm sitting on horse and dog models now that are getting nothing.
What type of horse stuff do you sell Jill? I'm looking for a Miniature Horse show halter, western type for my guy.
For those who use(d) it as a buyer, does it have a set expiration or do you set it? I had one offer that expired in 24 hours I was going to sell the halter to. Buyers aren't allowed to make a second offer. Turns out for the better for me anyway because I got the higher offer. But meanwhile the first one wanted me to list it for her offer so she could just buy it. That would have required both of us being on at the same time and I do have a life, . So I'm wondering how it works.
