How Many Of You Out There.....

Question
How many of you out there use dropshippers?
I have had mild success with them I sold about 10 items of the same things and 9 of another only have used one place
as I personally like having the things on hand
I just wondered if anybody has had any real success with them at all if you have a link toss it my way

Answer
I've had some success, not much as to the prices arent competitive enough to compete with big shots. Im sure they get the merchandise for the same price the dropshipper gets it for. But it works ok for me since I dont have a tax id yet. I agree I would much rather stock the merchandise myself, but being out of work due to an injury, I am unable to afford to stock merchandise and just trying to pay some bills here and there to avoid bankruptcy.

Answer
I've been reading auction-related chatboards for 5 years. I've never read a post by anyone who reported great success using the dropshipper method.

Answer
I have run across a company that will drop-ship jewelry for me.
Unfortunately, by the time I end up paying their drop-ship fee, their shipping fee (not the same thing), the item cost, eBay's long list of fun fees and possibly PayPal fees as well, I'm at -$5.00 per item.
What this and maybe other companies won't tell you is that if they could get a decent price for their goods by selling directly to consumers, by golly they would! They're hoping you don't have a firm handle on the market and the costs involved to play in that market.

Answer
I use a drop shipper for most of my shoe sales. They work fine for me but I will have to add a few points to explain why this is so.
They are first and foremost a shoe company not a drop shipping company its just a service they provide.
They are located fairly close to me (approx 20 mi) so I have the option of picking up my orders and there factory showroom is open sunday so I usually go once a week.
They charge me exact shipping plus a $2 handling charge.
I get a slightly better price on my items than my competitors.
I've sold close to 500 pairs at this stage with no major hiccups that weren't caused by me. Of course in this business you have to know your product and accept returns. Of course I wasn't looking for a drop shipper when I found this company and I wasn't too keen on the idea at first
