Question
ebay's fee hike for auctioneers is mainly in the gallery and BIN.
These are 2 of the most important features we use.
For those of you who does BIN and Gallery 100%, what's your intake on this issue?
Answer
I use to do gallery 100 % of the time, however since the increase I just try to use it less. Personally I think sellers that use their own photo hosting should either get gallery free or at the very LEAST a discount.
Whenever I use to list auctions, most of the time I would put a buy it now on it just so that if a buyer searched for "show only buy it now" or "show auction only" it would appear either way. However due to the fee increase I only use 1 or the other.
So while greedbay THOUGHT increasing fees would "help" them
It has only led to sellers listing less in auction, or cutting out services they once used. Guess they're probally getting the same amount in the end either way, however sellers now have to use less to cut down on fees.

.
Hi,
Wait, so if we have our own server for images, we can have a gallery for free?
those mini images that is shown next to the listing titles when people do a search?! How do I do that? Since I have always have a custom photo from my server in my custom HTML.
Bleh... I don't see that vibrancy Meg was alking about by raising their fees.
I think it's just going to kill them in the long run.
Answer
that was a suggestion, not a reality, too bad, it is a good point.
Use gallery on every other item....
I wouldn't use it at all on a cable, everyone knows what those look like
you would be better off with fixed price listings in multiples than Bin any way, Bin is useless for you, as soon as someone bids it disappears
try FP, it will help
Answer
Start every item at under $1.
Answer
commentary, you think that would work with usb cables?
might be worth an experiment but then you would have to adjust your shipping upwards

ok - start everything at under $1 and charge $12/shipping with no discount for combined shipping.
oh heck, just do 99 cents bin with $15 shipping.
Reduce not only the listing fee, but also the FVF.
Answer
Well, what is better though?
Real item price and real shipping cost or 99 cents item price and bloated up shipping?
What is more attractive?
Yes, I have tried both ways. I don't see a difference but that's because my inventory is small and I don't list much due to supplies
Answer
I charge only $1.00 or $1.50 above the shipping depending on how much trouble and bubble wrap it takes.
I don't want to get turned in for "Unreasonable shipping or handling costs"
Ebay will shut down auctions for "listings with low prices but unreasonably high shipping or handling costs."
People don't bid if the shipping is too high and I don't want to cut my own throat and lose bidders.
Answer
There is a nice, free, cross promotion tool here that enables you to set up a lovely gallery of your own in all your listings:

It takes a bit of work to set up, but once you get the ahng of it, it's fabulous. I use it all the time now rather than paying eBay's gallery fees.
