Question
I was ripped off. About $50. I used BIN and paid a little more than retail for the item. We're at about 35 days since I mailed the check. Seller's e-mail said that high positive feedbacks would qualify for immediate shipment if paid for by check and that the item would ship Priority Mail.
I'm very disappointed. I have that sick feeling in my stomach over it. The item was to be a holiday gift and I was so happy to find it.
The seller had a few negs but all from years ago. No negs in nearly 3 years. The person bought and sold and there were no red flags that I could see. The address was a P.O. Box but lots of folks use them so it didn't raise any concern. Maybe it should have, but maybe not.
I received an email from another bidder who also used BIN asking if I had received the item. When I replied that I had not and was becoming concerned myself, this buyer pulled the contact info of the seller and attempted to telephone them. The number was disconnected. That bidder reported this to ebay.
I went to the live customer service and they referred me to Trust and Safety. I filled out the information and indicated that the seller's telephone was not in service. I got a canned email saying that they'd look into it and suggesting that while awaiting their investigation I pull the contact info and give them a call. Ugh.
About five days ago, I received an e-mail (canned) saying that they have reviewed it and would take action per the site policies but that they were not able to discuss the action being taken.
The seller's ID is still in operation. They are not selling anything at the moment but I thought that false contact info was grounds for immediate NARU?
Has that changed?

Maybe they updated their user info. Pull the contact info again, and see if the phone number is valid.

Answer
Just pulled their info again. Same telephone number. I dialed it again. Disconnected.
BTW Microbes, how are you doing these days? I believe you lost a parent around the time I did (last April).

Is this person located on the east coast? Possibly one of the hurricane victims?

Yes. I'm doing ok. Every so often something will come up that makes me think "I wish I could talk to dad about this", but when it does, I ask my self "what would dad say?", and the answer usually makes itself known. I miss him, but I count my self lucky too. He lasted about 2 years longer than the doctors thought he would when they first diagnosed him with leukemia (they had told us he had between 6 months and a year), so we all spent alot of time with him the last 3 years. It hasn't been easy, and I worry about my mom. They where married for over 50 years, and I know she misses him even more than I do.
