Answer
I'm pretty sure that is a joke site (that's what it sounded like), though there are folks who are mentally disabled and live like that.
How very sad for them. And we think we are bad!

Answer
I bought a house lot from someone like that, 30 years of buying and rarely used any of it, the house was smaller though.....
this woman needs me to come and organize that for her, I could make it so she could get half that much again in the house. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

I have bought many collectors out where they had never open monthly subscription purchases for years. Worst case was one collector who had not open close to $10,000 in purchases and left everything to the estate.

There is a man I know who attends one of the local auction houses. His house is worse, much worse. I have been there once. I had to suck in my stomach and turn sideways to get around.
He's also a dealer. Scary stuff.

I just finished going through a house in somewhat similar condition, only much older. The woman had been widowed for a couple decades and was an avid reader and crafter – also an insomniac who slept for only a couple of hours a night. The house had shelves on every vertical surface and they were just filled with books – even the hallways – to the ceiling. All books were arranged by subject and author. Every cabinet and piece of furniture was filled with stuff, and then there were boxes and additional furniture just stuffed with things – kitchen stuff, material, sewing supplies, photos, puzzles, videos, patterns, clothing and books, books, books! All sorts of extension cords and jury-rigged lights – cause you couldn’t make your way back through the piles to the wall sockets and switches. The only place to sit was one small clear area of the couch, and the only place to sleep was one single bed with a saggy mattress that you had to thread your way through to get to.
Amazingly, everything was organized and labeled. It was also dusty. Apparently the maid had been on strike for a few decades. The only way to get through the place was via a little path through it all. I called it the "Hell House".
Pretty sad really, but oh man, just tons of stuff in there. I spent a few days there and a total of $125 and carted off PILES of stuff. I worked a bit of it into eBay over the past couple of weeks and have done very well so far.
It's pretty interesting excavating one of these places. You just need gloves and a mask and a flashlight and a b-i-g vehicle.

My sister sent me that a few days ago...I have to admit sitting & reading the entire thread. I found it FASCINATINGhttp://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif and the writing style of the author is hilarious!
But in all, sad that someone has issues that cause hoardinghttp://community.here.com/infopop/em...icon_frown.gif
Makes me grateful to have a home that is my "soft place to fall." (Not to mention, no clutter that might MAKE me fall!)
