I believe it was somewhere around here that RD (there may be others) that had a discussion regarding increasing your opening bids.
I was reluctant to increase my opening bids further than $9.99 and figured I was saving myself an extra quarter or two. I also thought there would be more competition at the lower bid. I was wrong. This is a red-letter day and no word should ever be leaked to DH.
I have started increasing my opening bids to $14.99 up to $24.99 and I am still getting bids. Even if I sell at the opening bid price, I am happy with the price. I am still starting lower on some items as I know that is all the market will bear. My sell-through rate last night was 90% and I hope that trend continues. I feel like I have increased my gross sales by 33%+ and that is the best feeling I've had on eBay in a long, long time.
