Has something changed with ebay's search function?

Question
I have all the ebay restricted sites as suggested by Blanche and up until two days ago I've been able to search just fine. But here's what happens now:
From the Home page I click on Books.
Then I click on Non-Fiction.
Then in the little search box I type in "baseball" and click "search".
Prior to two days ago this would bring up all books in Non-fiction only with the word baseball in the title.
Now, as soon as I click on the "search" button it automatically changes the space that used to say "non-fiction" books to "all categories" and I get a list of every item on ebay with the word baseball in the title.
I found a work around but I'm wondering what happened all of a sudden that the usual search no longer works for me. I'm assuming it has something to do with my settings?
TIA!

Answer
For me, that list was overkill. I already had a local proxy blocking content from named *.doubleclick domain servers and adding the suggested named eBay servers (whatever.ebay.com or happyharry.ebay.com) immediately caused problems when I viewed search results pages.
Nearly all the content called from the *.ebay.com servers get CACHED anyhow (spacer images, logos, external javascript files, etc.) so blocking it/them won't speed your page download time.

Answer
mapledr,
I tried to duplicate your search but I'm using Firefox. when I go to the homepage and change it to books and then type in baseball I am taken to THIS page:
http://buy.ebay.com/baseball
so far as the recommendations blanche made, they are apparently helping a lot of people who use explorer. You might want to go to the technical issues board and see if there are some new links that need to be added. there is a really long discussion there about slow ebay searching with fixes. I use either opera or firefox and don't have the problem with them.
