Is anyone else having problems with their Media Mail packages taking a long time arriving?
I had one that went to California from Mississippi that took a month to arrive. I went to the post office after 3 weeks to see what procedure to go through. She told me that Memphis sometimes holds them and makes a huge bulk mailout of the Media Mail at one time. All they could do was do a lost package form after waiting a month. It arrived 2 days before the month was up.
I now have 3 other buyers that have contacted me that their package hasn't arrived yet....1 in Texas, 2 in Virginia.
Anyone else having problems?

Dealing in books and records almost all of my stuff is shipped media mail and I haven't had one complaint in at least 6 months..I use the shipping assistant and put DC on each package..maybe that makes a difference.

I'm not using SA or DC and I'm having no problems at all. In fact, I received 3 feedbacks from 3 different buyers for items that shipped MM on Friday. I'm in FL - one went to CA, one to WA and one to NY.

My media mail shipments have been uncommonly fast too. Boy, if some company was holding up my product for a month I would be livid. What's wrong with Memphis? !

I ship a lot of books and records by media mail - for me, it seems kind of erratic. Some items get there VERY fast, others seem to crawl their way to their destination. And it doesn't seem to have a pattern based on location or any other pattern I can see.

Yes, I've noticed a larger number of customers wondering where their book was...MM does seem to be sporadically running slow. I've also noticed some first class mail taking longer too. I've also had international air mail taking longer...one package took 3 months by AIR! Right now I have an air m-bag that still hasn't arrived in England after three weeks, and my customer is getting antsy about it.

International is so bad for us right now, we are considering not shipping outside of the US.
Got an email today from someone that received a package after 34 days, one a week ago took 5 weeks and another email today from someone whose package was shipped on Jan 18.

I know what you mean about slow shipping, but we'd go under if we stopped selling internationally - it's probably around 50% of our business!

When I was living in Hoboken, NJ, I noticed if I dropped my media mail in the mailbox it would take a long time, if I took it directly to the post office it was as fast as first class.
I now live in White Plains, NY and the half dozen books I dropped in the mail box take about six days, fast for a mail box. So, maybe different locations do handle media differently.
