Question
Yesterday I would have said no. I thought that only a hand few of my items needed gallery since many of the skirts I sell are the same in different fabrics and materials.
So I ran a test and now I am convinced. I listed two of the same item on Saturday night in colors black and red. Black is usually more popular so I left gallery off that item and only used it on the red item. Then I signed up for sellathon V3 to watch this stuff.
After two days the black skirt has had less than one third the hits of the red with gallery. That is about backwards of what I would expect.
So this morning early I add gallery to the black one......over lunch the hits on the black skirt have exceeded the hits on the red skirt.....amazing. With gallery it caught up in less than 8 hours.
I suppose the extra ten cents will be worth it for me after the fee increase.....now to find buyers rather than lookers.

thanks for posting
Answer
I know from the past when I don't use gallery, I don't get as may high, as when I do use gallery. No hits, no sales.
Will keep using gallery, but will up my starting bids .10 and .10 more for BIN.
Answer
That's interesting, thanks for sharing. I have been contemplating whether to continue with gallery or not, this is some info I can use to decide what to do.
Answer
That's interesting but I have found just the reverse to be true for my items. I think it depends on the catagory you sell in. If your item has thousands of similar things for sale, then gallery probably does help. If only a few hundred or less items are offered, I don't think gallery is worth the money on low ticket items.
I know for my own browsing, I use the gallery images mostly to reject selections as I can see they are not what I'm looking for. I'll click on an auction when there isn't a gallery image displayed. It doesn't mean I'll bid but I will look and read the description.
Answer
I know as a buyer my eye is drawn to the gallery pic. I noticed this trend in myself last year sometime and that's when on about 98% of my items I'll use it. Some things really don't need the gallery pic, but very few that I list don't need it
So yes, the increase is worth it-almost as important in the scheme of things to pay it as to pay the listing fee.
Answer
When I shop eBay, I usually shop the Gallery pics so I'd have to say yes.

Greetings All:
If you have taken the 30 day free ride on Sellathon before you can sign up for another now using the V3.0 beta -- which came at a great time for me.
I was thinking about dropping gallery on all but a few items outside the store listings but this has really changed that plan.

These listings are in the clothing category which is pretty darn crowded.
Now....off to pray for some buyers out of the lookers pool.....

For those who are interested....some interesting notes from Sellathon.
As with my last test of Sellathon -- surprisingly few people seem to search, at least for me items, using search item and description. Few add description.
The other notable thing that I have noticed is that there is a huge, and I do mean HUGE spike in lookers in the Noon-1PM time slot, EST.
Just wanted to share.

I am a firm believer in Gallery. I have run tests similar to yours and found the same thing. No gallery.= no hits.
I also only shop Gallery. I figure if someone isn't willing to spend 35 cents to speed up my shopping then it probably isn't worth looking at.
As upset as I was at the announcement of the gallery increase and threatened to stop using gallery.........common sense set in and I realized you just can't sell as much and as high without it........DARN EBAY!!!!
