using stores as website pages???

Question
was wondering about using stores as website viewing pages of the products...
bidville store pages loads faster than any stores and clean and neat and free of distractions AND they have unlimited categories..... one store there can be like many stores in one.... and they charge $5.00 month..... the question is how to get people to come back to the website and ordering page..... i don't know if having alot of items in website pages would load any faster for viewing than bidvilles...
any opinions????

Answer
Not sure I understand what you mean.
Are you asking if we would recommend using your Bidville Store in place of a regular retail website?

Answer
no having a website and then having the viewing pages the store pages.......
have a link on your website to the store.... and these stores have unlimited category link pages....but the problem is getting them back to your website ordering page.... but some people don't want to use credit cardsa nd join a auction site any way..... bidville store pages loads so fast with the pics.... can't see how a website and all those pages could load faster.... the question is..... does bidville allow links to websites.... probably not so the user who starts out on your website will know theres a discount to buy from the website and not the store so maybe they would come back on their own to the website's ordering page... any opinions??

Answer
Oh! I see what you mean.
For me, I have a gateway site which has links to my regular retail website, as well as to most of the auction venues I sell on.
The links on the gateway page go one way (from the gateway page directly to my auction listings). Unfortunately, all of the auction sites I sell on don't allow me to direct folks BACK to the gateway page. It's not eBay-legal, Overstock-legal, etc. to do that. (In other words, to stick a link in your auction pages that take people back to the site).
You CAN add your site link to all of your auction related emails. That might be one way to lure people back to the site.
For me--my regular retail site does NOT have links to my auctions. I'd rather have people buy off the retail site, and so on. But, if you'd like to have things linked back and forth, you can make a gateway site and then add links BACK to the gateway site in your emails and on your eBay Me page, and so on.
Not sure if that helps?

Answer
yes.... trying to get people to buy from ones website is the way to go.....
a gateway site..... i'm fuzzy on what that is..
i saw how fast the pages load on bidville stores and all with gallery and so appealing... and with unlimited customizable categories that people can see and zero in on what their interest is and then click and see.... all for $5 per month..
this way i would just have to have 2 pages on my website the first and the ordering page....the viewing pages would be my bidville stores.....yes the problem is getting people back to your website to buy..... some has said there is a code to put on the website that opens another window and then when they view the bidville store pages they can come back easier to my website to order...
i need someone to explain this code and openning another window????

Answer
A gateway site is a website (HTML Page) set up, which links to various different pages.
Often people with more than one retail website, or people who sell on multiple venues, use a gateway site as a one-stop jump-off page. They advertise the gateway site so that their customers can find all of their offerings, on every venue, from one page.
Hope that made sense?
If you want to have links open in a new window, it's pretty easy. Just add TARGET_blank to your html links.
For example:
{a href="http://www.here.com" TARGET_blank}here{/a}
(of course the fancy brakets would be replaced by the appropriate "<" and ">" symbols.

Answer
yes that is what my website is doing ... i guess one could call the first page the gateway.....i will check how the openining a window could work to help

Answer
Then, I guess you can officially call it a gateway. That's what it sounds like.
Let me know if you have any trouble with the TARGET_blank code.

Answer
Whoops! Must have my head on backwards this week.
I wanted to fix the error I made in an earlier post.
The code for opening a page in a new window is NOT Target_blank, it is TARGET=_blank
For example
CORRECT {a href="http://www.here.com" TARGET=_blank}here{/a}
INCORRECT {a href="http://www.here.com" TARGET_blank}here{/a}
Sorry for any confusion!
