I was thinking about opening an ebay shop and had a look at the three subscription levels.
I can not make my mindup on what one to go for as on the £30 one called feature I do not understand what this means
- Prime Positioning in the top level directory pages where you have items listed.

No, a featured listing is different.
I believe the directory page referred to might be the directory of shops. For example, if you look at this page for the sheet music category:
http://musical-instruments.listings....ting ItemList
and scroll down to the bottom of the the left column, the very last link is: "See all matching shops". If you click on that, you are taken to a directory of all shops which have listings in the sheet music category. The shops are listed according to number of items in a shop which fit the sheet music category.
My guess is that if any shop was a featured shop, they would appear at the top of the list, even if the shop only had 1 sheet music item.
