Question
If anyone else gets the opportunity to speak with the press, let's change the tone...let's mention the fee hike but point out it is only upsetting because:
1. Ebay has so many problems with slow search, errors in search, changing and disappearing categories, changes to the website daily, etc. etc. etc, all which make items difficult for bidders to find.
2. Sell through continues to drop week after week in all categories.
3. Continual billing problems.
4. NO support, no phone number, no way to get even errors in billing handled by a "real" person.
5. Cancelled listings without anyone even looking at them to see if they actually do break a rule. This includes listing rules that make it impossible to even list actors found inside a movie magazine.
Anyone else care to add more?
Let's get away from the attitude of "what's a few % here and a few dollars there" and let's point out the Ebay problems that are forcing some to leave Ebay...and the fact a fee increase in the face of all of these problems is an insult.
I have yet to see a news article that actually mentions Ebay has any serious problems...much less many.
Answer
Here are some of the canned responses from ebay and from ebay members for what it's worth incase anyone wants to sidestep what's already been said.

Answer
I agree with you lindajean....
If ebay has to raise their prices like this then we as sellers and buyers should be getting something for our dollars.
Nothing has changed in the past when fees went up unless you count everything getting worse.
I want to see something for my money.
Answer
We completely agree with you lindajean and that is why we decided the day before the fee increase to scale back our eBay listings and finally move ahead with our plan to diversify. Our original plan was to present one of the largest inventories of women's and juniors clothing among eBay stores before diversifying. eBay's structural defects and constant changes and lack of a decent listing management system made that original goal impossible to attain and greatly delayed our diversification plans.
If eBay worked, the fee increases would only have led us to make some minor changes.
