Answer
the largest book selling site on the internet or a jungle in Africa......take your pick http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif

Answer
Ooh, they sell much more now days! I love Amazon.com and, usually, if I can't find what I want from either there or buy.com for a great price, it's just not gonna happen!
They sell in pretty much every category now and their prices are often the best you can find online!

Answer
Nice place to buy/sell books. Lots of new stuff. They usually have some kickin Christmas sells, with online coupons to be found. They have a clearance section... and chat boards.

Answer
no actually, I am so busy doing ebya and working in RL, I have no time or incentive to "surf the net"
confession:
I don't listen to music online
I don't do porn online
I don't shop online
I don't read much online unless I have a problem that can't be solved locally, of course posting the problem here is so much easier and faster and much more efficient, here has become the encylcopedia of info for me....and this thread proves it.
I might research a manufacturer or maker or maybe try to see how RARE something really is.
and other auction/sell sites don't interest me, I love eBay.
Amazon, is it canadian friendly?

Answer
Unless it's changed, Amazon was not friendly to Canadian sellers. I used to have a ZShop there (October 1999 to August 2000).

Answer
I sell on Amazon with great success and get better prices then i used to get from Half.com. Please don't look at it, as I like the lack of competition.
And I recycle a lot of the money I earn on ebay and Amazon by buying on line, too. Saves a ton of money over retail while helping our community as a whole grow and prosper.

Answer
Gabs, I use it and like it. Less competetive than ebay, better prices too in some categories. Cheaper on Auctions than ebay...FWIW

Answer
or a jungle in Africa......
Er..Um.. Shouldn't that be "in South America"?

A bristlecone pine is just a fire's way of making another fire.

Answer
Fixed price site and auctions.
I haven't done an auction there in years, so no info.
Fixed price:
-Amazon Marketplace
-Mostly books, movies, music (but there are electronics and other things also)
Two commission structures for books, movies, music
-15% + $39.99/month OR
-15% + $0.99/sale
*I think the electronics commission is less - I have no experience with that.
Transactions basically go like this:
-You receive a "Sold! Ship now" notice.
-You ship.
-Every two weeks Amazon deposits your monies into the checking account to which you linked them. (You can clear your money out anytime you want, but if you don't, they'll do it every two weeks.)
Shipping reimbursements are:
$2.26 for Media (books) $1.84 Media (cds and videos)
$5.05 Priority (books) $3.95 (cds and videos)
$8.95 International (books) - $4.95 (cds and videos)
So, if you sold a $10 book, and the customer paid for Media Mail (standard) shipping, your proceeds would be:
$10.00
-1.50 (15% commission)
+2.26 (shipping reimbursement)
-------
$10.76 Net proceeds
======
When you list your books, you may opt out of Priority or International (for eg if they're too heavy or you just don't like shipping internationally), but you must ship Media whether the $2.26 covers your costs or not. Add to the price of the book if it's very heavy.
You'll need a credit card and a checking account to sell.
I think that's the big stuff.
