Question
I do a little buying on Ebay, although nowhere near the Selling we do.... and I am curious as to what kind of percentage of Negs in a sellers fb would prevent you from making a purchase from a seller.
For myself, I make it a practice to not entertain making a purchase from a seller with less than 98% pos fb. And I do go in and read the negs left. If they appear to be retaliatory, then I will reconsider and possibly make the purchase. I don't think one can be too careful when making an online purchase from a veritable stranger, and taking chances with a seller with scads of negs is just like playing russian roulette with your hard earned money. If I see a neg (such as slow shipping or item not as described) and the seller replies with a scathing of downright nasty reply, then I just back on out and look elsewhere for the product in question.
This is just my opinion and am wondering what your opinion is on this.
Blessings,
LL
Answer
Being a seller myself, I personally know many cases of exchanged negs are communication probs and .... well, politely ... 2 people clashing on a bad day.
I've been guilty of oooo-ing and ahhh-ing over some goofy thang and buying before checking back feeds ... and bitterly regretting it afterward.
The sure thang that would stop me from buying after looking at a seller's feeds are more than 6 folks saying basically the same thang.
I have cancelled bidders when more than 3 other sellers have experienced problems.
This is such a case by case issue ... but I tend to as a rule overlook a few negs. This is especially true if the neg-eee responded in a calm, reasonable fashion or with humor. If they fire back just as wacky as the neg leaver, I leave them alone.
