My IE address bar has been 'hijacked'

Question
My DD installed some s/w that added it's own address bar along side of the standard address bar. This had reduced the width of it by 50%. I have no idea how to remove this garbage, so I can restore the full width address bar.
Here is what it looks like
I guess they think by doing this I will use their search engine instead of Google.
Any ideas gang?
Tnx in advance

Answer
SpyBot Search & Destroy and/or Adaware.

Answer
Go to control panel and add/remove programs. Remove programs that say search assistant, web browser enhancer, search bar, etc. Remove any program that you know you yourself did NOT install or use. It pays to be familiar to what is in this by checking from time to time, so that when something like this happens, you can immediately spot the culprit. Also DO click in the Spybot link as posted above, install and run the program and also run the immunization. It wouldn't hurt to also download and run adaware as suggested. Between the two, you can generally get rid of any spyware you are plagued with. Also, any time you download ANY program online, carefully read each page of the install wizard. Many times they have little boxes checked to install programs that have NOTHING to do with the screensaver, etc. you MEANT to download. You can uncheck these boxes so they don't install, and get just what you wanted. Freeze.com is probably one of the worst. Even after you uncheck about 6 boxes they STILL add a search assistant that you must then uninstall, while you are online, to get rid of it. Hijack this will get rid of this stuff, but be careful with it as it will also show stuff that you need for programs you run. It is easier to just uninstall through add/remove programs after the fact if you are not sure what you're doing.
