Do you print USPO labels off Paypal??

Question
Anybody use the ship button on paypal? Does it just print a uspo label with the shipping amount and charge our account?
Is it true then that you can have the online tracking if you use this feature?
Sorry to be so dense, I haven't kept up with the ebay changes

Answer
I use it - Yes you get delivery confirmation - free for priority and .13 for all others. There is a .20 cent fee for everything but priority (priority is free)
You can also add insurance now.
It prints a full page - half is the label, half is a receipt.. It is your choice if you want the shipping amount to be on the label or not.
The best part is that the buyer is mailed an email from paypal that has the shipping info along with the tracking number. Makes it really easy to track who payed and who has been shipped to as it shows up on your paypal page that the item is shipped with a link to the tracking for you.
Hope that helps

Answer
thanks for the update. This actually something that is really good that ebay/paypal has done!

Answer
I just recently started to use this feature and have found out that I really like it even with the extra charge for anything other than priority. The way I justify the extra charge is I don't have to buy Avery labels anymore.
I like how I don't have to show the postage amount, and everything is pre-populated except for a few things. It saves me labels and time and for that it's worth the extra cost.

It's the same as regular online USPS DC....not REALLY tracking and won't help you if the package is lost in the mail. It will still just show as undelivered and PayPal will refund the buyers money if they file a complaint.

Overall...it works pretty good if the majority of your shipments are via Priority or you don't do a high volume. It can be rather costly at .20 per label if you ship a lot of First Class, Parcel Post or Media Mail packages.
For me using Endicia is cheaper and they don't have as much "down time" as PayPal.

What is the advantage of all this over the USPS shipping assistant where printing a label is free?

Answer
Ditto what Commentary is asking. I've always used the USPS shipping assistant and liked it.

So using endica doesn't give you any better tracking?
I have been told previously by both paypal and uspo that the only online tracking is with express.
In December a paypal rep implied on the phone that using the paypal link would be adequte online tracking. Do you think she was uninformed?
I ship some high end stuff and have had to go express as it is antique and fed ex will not reimburse for anything over 100.00 on antiques.

I think, no matter how you will print your shipping label, you are still under one USPS system. So if you want real protection regarding delivery, get minimum service of certified mail. Maybe you should talk to u-pic.com and see if maybe DC with their service.

Things I shipped today will show up scanned tonight on the usps site and then show scanned when delivered. how much more tracked could it get shows in the system and then delivered?
