Question
I posted this in the ID forum, but it has not had any response, and not a lot of views. I've brought it here, because there is more activity, and I would be grateful for some assistance.
China donkey needing identification
Thank you.
Answer
Hi Mivona,
I saw it there but didn't reply because I couldn't help. From the pic, it does look very nice. Have you tried researching the triangle mark?? Among others royal dux used a triangle mark..but I don't think they used letters and nos.-could be wrong
sorry I can't be of more help
Answer
I've tried to find china marks using google, but was overwhelmed with too many things. Do you have any ideas of websites with info about china markings, or am I going to have to try to find it in a library?
Answer
Beswick? Just a guess. Beswick is made in the UK, or was.

I can't get through to any of my links to give you urls-I keep getting the dreaded page cannot be displayed, but I use heather's Nostalgic antiques marks page and there are some good links here.

Answer
i dont know makers but when i was a kid i had several little china? farm animals like this for toys
this does look the same type thing
but i have no idea on how common or rare they were
Answer
The numbers and triangle marks are NOT consistant with Beswick, but I can not point you in the correct direction.
Coopercraft also did realistic animal figurines (I believe that they folded as a company a couple of years ago). They did do donkey(s), but I have not handled enough Coopercraft to know wether they had a numbering system like the one you have.
Sorry that I can't help better.
Kind Regards, Kevin
Answer
coopercraft has a sticker, which could explain why there is no name on it, and they might do contract work for others like giftcraft or something and just change the stickers...........
I would write that seller and ask if those figurines have any other markings on them, because they look similar in quality.
