Customer Bails on Bid...

Question
Well, at least it was in 2004 and not 2005. He bail on an item under $10.00 and said he couldn't buy it becuase he needs to redo the plumbing in the house.... well, maybe or maybe not. I'm not chasing him. I've already relisted the item and I'll just get my money back from ebay.
Seems like these newbies are having some buyers remorse...oh well. Hope the plumbing works out for them.
I did suggest they shut down their account though...
Hoping 2005 is better. Anyone else have a whacky buyer yet?

Answer
I am sure 2005 will bring more wacky buyers. I had an international bidder from the UK who was emailing everyday wondering where his package was. All I could tell him was it was shipped on this date, by USPS Airmail Parcel post which usually takes 4-10 days. Anyway he finally emails to tell me that UPS finally brought the package. I am thinking he got my auction confused with another?

Hoping 2005 is better. Anyone else have a whacky buyer yet? Hi Empires! I'm curious about something. If you don't care about losing your listing fee to this buyer and upholding the "contract" ... why bother posting anything about it? I mean it's all fine and good if that's the way you want to handle it and I support your right to run your biz how you want, but what is your aim in posting about it if you don't want to "chase" them?

Answer
vampie
maybe he needed to vent
maybe he wanted to start a conversation
or maybe he just wanted to start a thread for the heck of it.

Answer
Gabs, you're so smart...
Vamp, because I'm sure others are getting the ol' stiffy too and maybe just wanted to share their thoughts as I did mine. No big deal. As for the bailer, maybe it's true, who knows?
The money lost isn't going to make me rich or poor today. Hey why can't you go into a dark theater? less you want to do something about it. Same philosophy I guess...just ranting..
Also, the point was to say, if you can't honor your bids, then close your account. As for the fees ebay will give them back.

Answer
Empires, the theatre biz and places with large amounts of humans in close quarters has to do with my recovering from panic attacks. And I am actively working on it.
My point in asking has to do with moving on. I mean, if you've decided to forgo the bid, forgive the contract, then I was just curious why you want to keep it going in your life. Hey - venting is great! If you choose to forgive the bidder, great - it's your business. IMHO, tho ... continuing to discuss the issue is just keeping it alive without hope of a resolution. No judgement, mind - just my conversation.

BTW, I was at the original Woodstock. Don't do large crowds of 50 or more anymore either. Just worked out that way. Enjoyed the event though.

Answer
Yeah, I've had one lately. Bought a 5 pound book from me, they are from Canada, I sent an invoice with their shipping options. They kept sending me questions via eBay about how much they owed me. I sent answers back via eBay. I did this 6 freaking times, they kept e-mailing me via eBay. I finally actually sat down hand-wrote a note and mailed it to them. Asked them to contact me regarding purchase. That was WEEKS ago, so I am pretty sure they got the note. Not a peep.
Checked the FB and it's all good, but my guess is they saw what the shipping charges were going to be from the USA for that heavy book and feigned an e-mail problem. So I have relisted the book.
It was in my store so I didn't lose much, I am still comtemplating whether to ding them in the FB or not. I am tempted just because I had to spend so much time dealing with this.
