Question
or anyone else who knows the answer.
I was looking at a search yesterday and found some listings from a seller in New Zealand for IRA Posters.
Link to the closed items below.
He mentions he is not allowed to ship to the UK or Ireland.
I see a lot of IRA stuff listed by sellers from those countries and wonder why he might feel the need to include this restriction.
He also mentioned "stamps" and I wonder if you might know why they are attached and what the stamps mean.

Answer
G'day Ray,
I can only offer guesses in answer to your questions. I can't say I have ever found IRA memorabilia here, but I have handled a little (much earlier) Sinn Fein memorabilia.
I think that the shipping restriction is probably being cautious in the current environment (but *may* also be a legal requirement). I can imagine serious problems if Customs were to open the package and deem it to be "supporting" terrorism.
The stamps would be rubber stamps, either from the distributor/dealer or previous owner. My first thought was that it was from a record shop, but on second thoughts, and with the additional crown stamp, these probably were originally in an English army archive, and later became surplus.
Of course I may be wrong.
Cheers, Kevin
Answer
The stamps are english army and monarchy stamps
the shipping issues are because the IRA is incorrectly grouped with terrorists groups where the actual fact is in this case the british army is the terrorist organization
and the restriction is legal the british government deems all such materials as supporting the ira and sale of such items as well as purchasing such items to be supporting the IRA
