Question
Has anyone seen these new Priority Mail boxes that have been co-branded with eBay?
The U.S. Postal Service is now offering Priority Mail boxes with ebay's logo on them. They are FREE just like any other priority mail box but have ebay's logo on them.
I doubt I would use them because of the potential of theift if peopel knew they contained items that were sold on eBay.
is anyone using these new boxes? What do you think of the potental for theift ? Or are there adbantages to using them that I'm not seeing?
Answer
I don't see any advantage to the seller, I see plenty of advantage for eBay though. I agree with you, with their logo on it the possibility of theft rises. I won't be using them, I'll stick with the plain ones.
Answer
I work at the PO and have seen a few. Small percentage. As for the theft issue. MANY people use a shipping lable with Ebay or Paypal on it, so I can't see the box being worse than that.
Myself, I ship with plain jane lables, unless I do a delivery confirmation, then I use the PO website. Nothing on the outside identifies it as ebay.
I don't worry a whole lot about theft IN the PO, just after it's delivered and sitting on the porch or something

Answer
Frequent buyers who don't want other people to know about their eBay habit might not appreciate getting logo'd boxes.

Answer
I hear that the post office has a Priority box for a one price shipping fee. is this true? and is it this ebay postoffice box?
Answer
There are two types of flat rate priority boxes, both at $7.70
One is a shirt box.
The other is a small rectangular box with some height to it.
They're great for shipping books and lead weights. But not adequate for typical toys in the holiday season.
Answer
My post office people are wonderful and we often chat about their customers who do ebay. They told me they are now having bitter fights with customers who are convinced that the postage on the flat rate boxes should be the lesser of priority mail postage or $7.70. When they tell them they'll get fired if they don't charge the flat $7.70 it leads to major disputes. Seems to me you've got to be pretty "into" ebay to even know the flat rate boxes exist, let alone have them already. If you do ebay that regularly why then wouldn't you know how they work (yeah, I know just the words "flat rate" should tell you but we know that isn't true)??? Putting a damper on the christmas spirit at the post office. Maryanne
