Question
Sold a book out of my eBay store to someone in Canada. She has e-mailed me via eBay asking for shipping charges. I have e-mailed her back giving them. She e-mails me again asking for charges, I send her an eBay invoice asking her to contact me. Nothing, no e-mail no payment. I even then try using my gmail account to contact her instead of my regular ISP. Still nothing. This book sold on Nove 27th and I can't seem to connect with her. She had zero FB when she bought the book but I see she now has several positive FBs so I know she's not a loser, I'm just at my wits end. No I am not calling Canada. Anyone have any other ideas? I am about ready to cancel the sale. I did have 3 watchers on this book although that means squat.
Answer
try sending her a Paypal invoice?
just a thought
Answer
It is possible that she has mailed payment. However, it wouldn't hurt to start the process to get your fees back. If nothing else, the first reminder e-mail from eBay should prompt her to get in touch with you, even if it's simply to let you know she has mailed payment.
Answer
The shipping charges prolly scared her off, especially if it was a cheap book.
If its a heavy book, a GPM envelope at $7 might help.....
Answer
Thanks all. Snakey what is a GPM envelope? I know it's too thick to get into a Global Priority, the book is about 3 inches thick, I won't be able to keep the envelope closed just using the USPS seal.
I will try the PayPal invoice too and see if that gets to her.
I am thinking of jotting off a short note via snail-mail, I guess I'm willing to cough up 60¢ to see if I can get this sale finished. *sigh* All this for a $10 book!
Answer
I always use packing tape on my flat rate and global priority envelopes , my post office never complains. One other one did, once .I told them I'd insure the parcel & when the package opens up & loses the insides because of their cheap seal I'd collect the insurance . Strangely they let me use the tape.
Its the easy pull tab that makes me worried. I use a printed label & use alot of packing tape to tape it on, covering the flap & pull tab.
Answer
Had one like this a couple weeks ago... wouldn't respond to any emails via hotmail or my main or paypal so... filed the nonpaying bidder alert/dispute and finially got an email that same day, that the check was in the mail. True to their word, it arrived a couple days later, postdated prior to the filing.
Answer
We have this happen several times a month - Usually with buyers who have AOL email and seem to have their spam filter intercepting our mails.
Answer
Well I ended up sending her a short letter via snail mail giving her the shipping options. Told her to e-mail me again to let me know what she's decided on. So if I still don't get payment within the next couple of weeks I'll go ahead and start the process to get my fees back.
