I give up. have you ever seen ebay put the fixed price stuff below the auction. Who will bid any higher. OH I CAN NOT believe it. They truly don't want to be an auction site any longer. Have I just missed this or is this new
Answer
This started a while back
They only show up if there are less than 5 (I thing or maybe 10) in the auction results.
Answer
It's 10 results or less:

When buyers search for something on eBay, and there are 10 or less results in auction or fixed price formats, they will see additional Store Inventory listings that match their Search, following the regular search results list.

Answer
All i can say is that they really must make their money in the listing fees. Because this practice just limits how high the auction will go. Why am i ever surprised.
Answer
There are now 13 items on that search and the fixed price listings are gone.

Answer
Well so that is one way to get them to go away. I posted 11 auctions last night.
Answer
You know that there are a lot of ebay store owners that kicked and screamed and fought for a very long time to get nothing more than those 10 stupid items down at the bottom...
Obviously none of you are store owners...
