What is ebay's policy about misleading photos?

Question
Or do they even have a policy about misleading photos? I found their policy about misleading titles but couldn't find anything about photos. Does the photo in the auction actually have to be a photo of the item being sold?
The daughter of a friend bid on this auction Louis Vuitton purse. The auction clearly states that you are bidding on a list. In fairly typical buyer fashion she bid before reading the description. When she realized her mistake it was too late to retract her bid.
Her Dad made her pay for the auction anyway as a lesson but then he asked me if it wasn't misleading to have a photo of a purse instead of a photo of the list being sold? So is there a policy about that? TIA.

Answer
I wouldnt pay. Look at their feedback. Shill shill shill shill real
that blakes person ONLY bids on the auctions by this seller.
As for the photo policy, dunno, sorry.

Answer
Did she even read the title? It's got "wholesale list" in the title.
Surely it can't even come close to being considered "misleading" (via a picture) since it's got the word in the title and it's even in the right category "information products".
If there's a policy about photos then they're going to have to go after every single seller who sells lists of any sort. I'd worry less about that and more about reading comprehension skills.
I really don't see what the seller did wrong, theoretically.. especially when it states "list" in both the title and description.

Answer
I've got to say that, unless the only thing a bidder does is look at pictures, I don't see how the auction is misleading.
Category: Information Products
Title: ...WHOLESALE LIST
First line of description: You are bidding on a dynamic list of contacts...
Next-to-last line of description: *Note you are not bidding on an actual bag, but a list of suppliers and resellers!
Sorry, but I don't think a seller should be held responsible for a bidder's failure to read the information provided.

Answer
If there's a rule concerning misleading titles, ebay should suspend 1/2 of the sellers in the antiques/primitives category. The category has pretty much been ruined with all the cutsie wootsie "country" stuff and auctions that are stated as antique in the title and when you open the page, it's a repro ...and stated as such. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...s/icon_mad.gif

Answer
Definitely a shiller, but not at fault in the case of the misleading photograph.
I mean, seriously, who bids on something without even looking at ONE WORD of the description. We're not talking about the seller hiding this information in the fine print at the bottom of the page, every single line is about the 'list'. The title is about the list!
Wouldn't someone read even one or two words to find out whether it was new, used, had any rips, tears, whether authenticity was guaranteed, etc? It's not like it was an impulse snipe either, there were 50 minutes to go on the auction.
I think the buyer should pony up the cash and take a (reasonably) cheap lesson. Unless of course the seller is NARU'd for shilling before the 3 day contact period is up. http://community.here.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif

Answer
Thanks for the replies. As I said, the bidder did bid without reading. I never said I thought the auction was misleading - it's quite obvious, to anyone who takes the time to read it, the auction is for a list. And, as I said, her father made her pay for it as a lesson to be more careful in the future. I will point out the obvious shill bidding to him to see if he wants to pursue it.
I just wondered if the item advertised had to be the item pictured. I have no idea since I always use a photo of what I'm selling in my listings.

Answer
Not much to persue.
The seller is now NARU
