Question
Well I guess after almost 4 years of selling I'm probably past due. Haven't contacted the buyer yet, I need to figure out who it is (my online bank access doesn't give me enough IDing info so I'm researching now to get a best guess of who it is).
Do most people (from your experiences) come through and cover their bounced checks & fees?

Answer

Answer
I have had 2 bad checks out of over 5000 transactions. (both last year) One was made right and the other never responded so I kept the check and wrote it off at tax time.

I don't know what your problem is, but I bet it's hard to pronounce
Answer
All my bad checks eventually pay up. When you find out who it is, get online & find a phone # for the sherriff or police department in their town. Then give them a call, and ask for the name of the person who handles bad checks.
Then give your buyer a call, being sure to mention that you've spoken with Sgt. Blueshoes at the local police department and you're sure you won't have to involve him further because they are going to make the check good, along with your fees....
Works like a charm for me. http://community.here.com/infopop/em...on_biggrin.gif One time I had a guy (never have figured out why he did this) who won 3 $30 auctions from me and mailed me THREE checks, each for $30. They all 3 bounced. Bank fees ended up being pretty ugly.
Good luck & let us know how it goes.

Answer
I have had 4 bounce.
3 paid up, one paid 50% and then disappeared. Luckily my profit margin was high on it and I was OK. I decided not to pursue it further, it was $50 balance, and not worth my time.
But generally people are fine with paying up for this. I pass on bank charges too, and find people are so embarrassed they usually pay without complaint
Good luck.

Answer
if they don't pay do a search for the bad check program in that state. It is usually run by the Distict Attorney.A search should get you somewhere though.Seem in the U.s. they don't take to this type of activity very lightly.
It has worked for me twice now and I got a full re-fund of the money directly from the bad check program. No cost at all to me.
