Running Auctions on /over / after Thanksgiving ??

Question
Its my Feeling that having Auctions END during the 4 day ( Thursday / Sunday) is NOT "a good thing" .
But, I believe that having them open - Across that Time Period -- Ending on Monday or Tuesday is a Good Thing.
That was my stratagy last year.
What is your Game plan ??
Two Years ago we were away for Thanksgiving Holiday - We went to the Mountains - 50 miles from a moderate sized town - Plenty of Snow - Stopped at Tiny Roadside community with a resturant. While Awaiting our dinner , the door opened - In came a Woman Dressed to the 9's - She Pushed two table together as others dressed in like began to arrive - The chatter arose -- the Laptops opened - and the shopping began !
Please - Lets share some thoughts on Avoiding the Holiday - Starting on the Holiday - Ending on the Holiday .
As always, interested to see what others think.
Mike

Answer
I just keep on listing, never mind any holiday, remember, not everyone is in your exact predicament.

Answer
Depends on what you're selling. All I remember is that right after Thanksgiving, collectible tableware does really well. I think people search for additions or replacements having just dragged out their good stuff...
I think toys might do well online this year. I read an article recently that there's a big backlog of ships entering the ports from overseas, so stock on store shelves might be lacking... leading to more online searches. Too bad I don't sell toys.
I did read about lackluster expectations as compared to last year though, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some "price wars" come December 10th. My goal is to sell as much as I can between now and then, starting with the better stuff, and certain seasonal things that need to go out early.
Yep, that's the plan...

Answer
Ditto gabs, Open a store and save money, or make money. Forget the holidays and just list items.
