Question
I signed in, clicked the "keep me signed in" box and did a search for something. I found one but there was only a minute and 32 seconds till the auction closed. No problem, I thought, since I had already signed in, shouldn't take but a few seconds to place the bid. I placed my bid. Instead of becoming the high bidder, Ebay took me to another sign in page and I had to sign in again. Still I thought, no problem, only a few seconds to sign in again. Wrong! The damn page hung and wouldn't load. It's not my computer or connection, because everything else is loading just fine. Finally loaded over a minute later and I got the message that I couldn't bid because the auction had ended. I really, really, really miss the old Ebay when you could place a bid within a minute with no problem. I don't know why they even bother with that "keep me signed in" option when they still make you sign in over and over everywhere you want to go on the site. Not only does this make it more difficult for the buyers, but the sellers lose out on snipers who don't use a sniping tool, or people who find the auction right before it ends like I did. This item went for the minimum bid with one bidder, but would have gone higher had I been able to get past the damn sign in page.
Answer
I have been having great luck with not having to sign in more than the first time .
The only thing I am doing routinely lately is starting out from the My eBay page.
Don't if that's making a difference but it's worth a try.
I never did click the 'keep me signed in'........never figured it did anything anyway.
Answer
Thanks, Barb. I'll try that method next time.
Answer
Same thing happened to me couple weeks ago while bidding, I lost also.
Answer
What ticks me off is the hoops we have to jump thru now just to get a credit for a deadbeat.
Answer
Hoops... yes, that's the word for it. It seems like we have to jump thru hoops for every little thing we want to do that should be simple (and used to be simple), whether we're buying or selling.
Answer
I have a rather large load of stuff to dump on eBay.
But I cant seem to get away from listing my books. NOT on ebay, of course.
The idea of listing on ebay makes me nauseous.
Overstock seems nice, but still overpriced.
I think I'll keep listing books.....
Answer
I've found that if you turn off java scripting, eBay might behave a bit better, and respond quicker too. Especially when going about posting new listings.
Answer
I've gotten to where I only use the Buy it Now feature when shopping, I've gotten tired of losing auctions due to one eBay glitch after the other
