Have you browsed the ebay exclusives?

Question
http://exclusives.ebay.com/

See anything you just gotta have?

Between this and ebay's print catalog, nevermind the endless "contests", ebay is finally getting too slick even for me. I've already moved half my stuff to overstock. I know others have commented on it often, but I'm not fond of what ebay is becoming. *sigh*

Answer
The Giant Pez dispenser...but I'll do without it.

Barb - keep in mind these are just my experiences: I've been having a 50% sell through at more-than minimum (aka more than one bidder per item). Not great but better than my last batch of auctions on ebay.

They do have a few minor glitches pop up now and then, like their search box can be funky which could impact sales. And it takes a while to get the hang of writing up an auction on their form - I find if I go straight through from top to bottom instead of skipping around it works better. I haven't downloaded their lister, but might try it today so I can have stuff written and ready to upload on their free listing day. (It was so nice of them to announce it with plenty of lead time!)

I don't use their invoices - when I bought some stuff I found out they didn't include the sellers email addy for online payments or their snail mail addy for checks, which actually turned into a fun exchange for both of us as we learned the system. So I actually go to paypal and manually enter the info to send an invoice through them (which does include my snail mail addy), and so far all my buyers have paid with paypal (so ebay is still getting a "cut" ).

So each transaction takes more time from start to finish, but I don't mind. I like that it's not so overwhelminly big yet. It's fun to be able to actually browse and not fight item specifics (Barb - did you hear ebay is adding item specifics to the farm tractor category? LOL).

Answer
I've looked at them – it looks like retail to me. Buy It Now, immediate PayPal payment required, 500 items available – and all on stuff that "I" don't want or need.
As far as: I know others have commented on it often, but I'm not fond of what ebay is becoming. *sigh* I know that this is not something I'm interested in, but apparently ebay management, their partners and the shareholders feel that this is the right move. And they may be right - this is the time of year people feel the need to spend money they don't have on overpriced carp that they don't need. Or else they get in a gift panic and want to get something as a gift for someone who doesn't want it either. Never underestimate the bad taste of the American public.
I sort of liken it to a favorite antique mall being invaded by Beanie shleppers. I don't like it, but if management allows it, there they are. I don't stop in their booth or shop in their booth and I think it disparages the image of the mall, but it doesn't keep me from visiting because I know that among the dreck there are likely things I can get nowhere else.
And consider this: someone goes and purchases the Fontanini® Tuscan Grotto with Centennial Holy Family for $75. They give it as a Christmas present to someone who doesn't want it. That person lists it on ebay and sells it for $20. Ebay wins, the original buyer is satisfied, Roman, Inc. wins, the gift recipient makes pure profit and the ultimate buyer is happy with their bargin. I see it as win-win-win-win-win!

Answer
is ebay selling their own stuff on ebay or are they allowing the EXCLUSIVE supplier sell it on ebay.......hummm.....

Answer
They were talking about this on ebay radio today. Darlene Clementz, the manager for the eBay Collectibles category, told Griff the auctions are being run by the manufacturers themselves. She said some had approached ebay, and others ebay approached...
It makes you wonder how long the "little guy" will be able to compete with direct-from-the-manufacturer sales. <sigh>
